THE TEACHER'S CREATIVITY AND THE STUDENTS' MOTIVATION: A VIRTUOUS COMBINATION

Zielgruppe:
• Sprachlehrkräfte aller Abteilungen (Das Seminar wird auf Englisch sein!)

Inhalte:
How do we motivate our students? In this session I will argue that a task is motivating when it challenges the students cognitively and affectively, when it gives them an opportunity to push the envelope, and when it leads them to self-expression.
I will highlight the implications of my research on challenging tasks, and I will focus on the strategies we can implement to get the students’ attention and help them enter a state of flow and psychological well-being. I will then discuss the link between the teacher’s creativity and the students’ motivation, namely in relation to materials development.
Please note that although we will be referring to current research on motivational as creativity issues, the session will be interactive and participants will be invited to experience the numerous tasks I will demonstrate.

Das Seminar findet in englischer Sprache statt.
